Mr Mohammad Alami Musa
Ambassador to Algeria
Mr Mohammad Alami Musa is Singapore’s Non-Resident Ambassador to Algeria. He is concurrently the President of Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (MUIS Council).
Mr Mohammad Alami was born on 7 July 1956 in Singapore. He graduated with Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) in 1979 from the University of Singapore. He received his Master of Science (Civil Engineering) from National University of Singapore in 1987.
Mr Mohammad Alami joined the Ministry of Environment in 1981. He was seconded to MUIS in July 2003 as Vice-President and was appointed as full time President of MUIS from September 2003 to August 2013. He is now holding this position in a non-executive capacity.
Mr Mohammad Alami was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 2015, the Public Administration Medal (Silver) in 2010 and the Long Service Medal in 2005. He received Berita Harian’s “Achiever of Year” award in 2015 for his long time contributions to the Singapore Muslim Community. He was appointed Justice of Peace in November 2015.
Mr Mohamad Alami is a member of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) Resource Panel on Religious Harmony and a member of MHA’s Independent Review Panel. He is also a member of the National Education Review Committee (MOE). He served as a member of the Community Committee for Elected President Elections 2017.
